I see my own son, now almost 16 years old...and I recall the conversations we had when he was middle school about gun violence in school. I remember him asking me what he should do if a shooter came close to his classroom...he wanted to know if he should hide or jump out a window. He told me he thought he could survive a broken leg but not multiple bullets from an AR15. He was so matter of fact about it. It took my breath away. It still does.
