NBCWashington
By Ree Hines
Joe and Jill Biden are turning the White House into a real home.
The president and first lady moved into the residence just three weeks ago, but theyve already added a number personal touches including a cozy accommodation for the youngest member of their family.
First grandson Beau, the infant son of Hunter Biden, has his very own White House crib.
We used to have two sets of bunk beds at home, the president shared in an interview with People magazine. (The grandchildren) outgrew them. Although we now have one little 10-month-old.

Waiting. I mean, what's more important? C'mon...

(6,921 posts)Winston is a rescue - presumably he's been weaned? Perhaps there's some other delay from the rescue organization, whatever it is?
Inquiring minds want to know!

(58,785 posts)And ground him in the real world, like his daily calls to his 5 adolescent grandchildren. About 9 months now, they grow so fast! Around this age Beau should have learned he can drop everything on the floor. The crib suggests they might be able to see him fairly often, in spite of Covid.
I hadn't realized until recently, but President Biden apparently has 7 grandchildren including another through Hunter, a no doubt adorable three year old (?) granddaughter he may or may not have met, and Biden's the kind of grandfather to love and care about all of them.

(13,058 posts)& Nana, as they call Jill Joe. They are a very closeknit family as is obvious. I watched the People's interview of them & the one Jenna Bush did of the beautiful &talented granddaughters& Ashley. They spoke so lovingly of their grandparents. Clearly they are the apple of the Bidens' eyes. Joe also mentioned how Beau was present in little "Beauey" at tbe inauguration and how that made it whole. Apple doesnt fall far from the trees. Much better than the degenerate money grubbing Trump kids

(58,785 posts)that way as president. Lol, daily calls with adolescents. Don't think I'll try to institute that out of the blue, but this continuing of the closeness developed in childhood is worth seeing. And that crib is undoubtedly the young end of that, not letting these precious years be lost to them.

The crib for the grandbaby is just darling - def'ly w add a uniqueness to the Biden presidency & to the annals of presidential history for sure, in the same manner as the first Grandparent (Mrs. Robinson - Michelle O's mom who came to reside w the Obamas to help take care of the kids)
