(1,671 posts)3. It sucks that Oneida County failed to process 2,400 new voter registrations that were submitted well
in advance of the election. Likely predominately for Democratic party. The BoE in claimed it couldn't handle the load, but never said a word.

But he said he has deep concerns about a series of errors and other problems that surfaced as election officials in eight counties counted absentee and affidavit ballots following the Nov. 3 election.
My one disappointment is that the court did not see fit to grant us a recount, Brindisi said. Sadly, we may never know how many legal voters were turned away at the polls or ballots not counted due to the ineptitude of the boards of election, especially in Oneida County.
Among the errors uncovered during court proceedings over the past three months was Oneida Countys failure to process more than 2,400 applications from voters who properly registered via the Department of Motor Vehicles but were prevented from voting on Election Day.
My hope is some authority steps in and investigates the massive disenfranchisement of voters that took place during this election, Brindisi said.

(52,167 posts)4. NY needs to clean up its election process
the South, not undeservedly, has gotten a lot of crap for their election laws but NY is worse than quite a few of states in the South in regards to this. There is no excuse for this, none.

At least we exceeded 43's narrow 221 2000 house majority though! Also, Dave Wasserman with another reminder that we escaped a tyrannical dictatorship by the skin of our teeth!
