I am not understanding the rationale for no witnesses at the impeachment trial.

But it's not like it matters anyways. This is important to at least go through the motions, but nothing is going to come of it, witnesses or not.

I feel like they just want to get it over with, and move on. The idea that he'll be held accountable is farcical.
