What would have happened then?...

Reading one of the many articles written today about the Insurrection at the Capitol this paragraph made me stop and wonder what the reaction of the republicans would have been if a successful political coup took place.

“The insurrection was to be Trump's final accomplishment in his mission. He failed — but it was a close call. It was a bungled coup attempt that matched the ineptness of his past four years in office. A more intelligent and capable man might have pulled it off.”

Once the extermination of his perceived enemies was done...Then what republicans?
If you stand by trump answer that simple question.
