Sounds like MAGA Media's go to reasoning for not going through the impeachment trial is Trump should go through regular courts if he committed a crime as if crime is the only justification for an impeachment trial.

(43,537 posts)vote to ban him for life. Alcee Hastings is an example of that. As a Federal Judge he was impeached, convicted, removed, but not banned (October 20, 1989). Now he has been the Dem US House member from FL-23 and FL-20 for almost 30 years.
