...would have been for his mob to kill enough Democrats that the G.Q.P. would suddenly have a majority in both chambers of Congress, then rush the challenges and subsequent House vote through before replacements could be appointed. Either that or create enough chaos to impose martial law -- and, while I was convinced he was about to do it after rioters breached the Capitol, but I guess he wanted dead representatives first -- and keep it in place "for the foreseeable future" (i.e. forever). But the latter course would have required that chaos to involve "both sides," which is why it was important for those pushing to prevent a coup to have made the agreement with progressive activist groups to not respond to the MAGAt action with their own forces in the streets.
