They l said it was good theater but a complete setup.
One said it is shameful that they put any of this out where the world can see.
Trump did absolutely nothing wrong and Pence should be arrested.
So no matter what, nothing will ever tarnish Trump in their eyes.
Their Senators all take marching orders from Trumpers so Trump will be given a pass as expected.
We might have to go through this again in a few years but if we do it will probably 10 times worse.
I was hoping this might shift some opinions but I was foolish to think so.

(14,004 posts)who call into CSPAN are probably pretty dug in to their beliefs. I think this trial could flip some of Trumps more casual voters.

(24,504 posts)Or, why is it people of low intelligence feel compelled to call CSPAN and share their idiotic opinions?

It is a lot of material to digest.
Yes a big chunk of the GOP will poo-poo all of it.
Not sure how the rest of the country will react.
The polls and comments today might not hold up next week.

(8,224 posts)a representative sample of opinion. NYT has a story of the increasing exodus from the Republican party. My guess is that you are not hearing from them on CSPAN. People who call in there have strong opinions that are unlikely to move.

(129,084 posts)and a few Republicans were disgusted and noted that they were completely disgusted and were either leaving the party or didn't plan to vote the next go around. But as time went on, the usual suspects flooded the lines and went right back to the talking points once the initial shock wore off (and/or the call to arms went out and the loons started flooding the lines - particularly it seemed, from those who apparently attended the rally but stayed outside).
Believe it or not, *something* seemed to briefly penetrate some of their gel brains but then they snapped right back into their faux world. This is what happens when you hollow out their lies and if not "replaced" with enough "truth" to fill the void and latch the door fast enough to hold it in, then the lies start rushing back in again.
