I have been speculating as to what Trump's vision of the sedition end game must have looked like. I am beginning to think that the goal was to wipe out the Democratic leadership and much of the rank and file, and hoping that when the dust settled the Republicans would support him. (and they may have) I think that Trump was holding out for a serious blood bath, declaring martial law, and having the Republican survivors install him as some kind of Super President.

A Reichstag fire, if you will.
