Stupid to not call witnesses.

They need to question some of the rioters under oath and have them tell the Senators/Jurors in their own voice, that they were acting under the direction of the president.

They need to question people who witnessed his actions while it was happening.

Relying on news reports when 35% of the country thinks it's all "fake news" is a huge mistake.

The direct testimony from eye wintesses needs to be in the public record!

Some are saying it doesn't matter if he's acquitted, that the american people just need to see what happened, and that's why they're doing this. Well if that's the case, then show us what happened, through the eyes of the people who were there, not news reports that are going to be tossed as fake news. We've already seen them doing this with Senator Mike Lee.

I don't care if it means the trial will take a few more days. This is important. There should be witnesses. Period.

2. They Want To Move On

That's what we do. We move on.

They know that no matter what is presented, no matter whether there are or are not witnesses, the result will be the same.

They have enough for the meaningless history books. We'll all be dead by the time history books even matter.

Now they can get back to bickering about Biden's agenda and his appointments. Nothing like a few years of stagnation to get our minds back on track.

4. At the very least they should have put witnesses like Tommy Tuberville and Trump staff members...

That would effectively prove that Trump reacted the way he did and suggests his complicity.

You really think that would make the lightbulb go off above their heads, and suddenly believe he's complicit?

I've got a bridge for sale.

10. It would help, but anyone who believes in "fake news" probably wont be swayed by any evidence

Anyways. This is not about truth and evidence to them, this is about tribalism, about their team, and hero worship.

The republicans would say that they are testifying to try to get a reduced sentence. As always they would find an excuse.

The final result is already known. The facts are recorded in history.
Joe Biden has an aggressive agenda that now requires attention.
Time to get back to working to improve the lives of the American people.
So much to do.
So little time.

You may not agree with their approach, but it's a bit much to call it "stupid."

15. Using the Senate as jury obviously doesn't serve justice.

Perhaps they should use former Senate members who don't have to worry about campaign funding.
