Such an event would have triggered Tr**p to declare 'martial law' - which I believe was his goal. Jan 6th was his last desperate attempt to hold on to power.
Such a killing would have been the culmination of his plan.
Think about that. If any one of our House Reps or Senators was killed - do you think that they would have resumed the election certification that night? I don't.
He'd - along with any of his accomplices - would find a way to tie up this government and we'd be in a true 'Constitutional Crisis'.
Thank God we dodged that bullet.
