Charlie Sykes runs the numbers from the last few weeks:
* The number of Republicans who backed the Texas lawsuit to overturn the presidential
election: 126;
b]* The number of Republicans who voted against certifying the electoral votes of
Pennsylvania: 138;
* The number of Republicans who voted to protect conspiracy theorist/bigot Marjorie
Taylor Greenes committee assignments: 199;
* The number of House Republicans who voted against impeachment: 197;
* And then Saturdays vote. Overall the pro-Trump GOP vote (in the House and
Senate): 240-17.
Over the last five years, Republicans have shown willingness to accept or least ignore lies, racism, and xenophobia. But now it is a party that is also willing to acquiesce to sedition, violence, extremism, and anti-democratic authoritarianism.

(6,933 posts)Saint Ronnie started the ball rolling with his planned attack on the middle class and homophobia with AIDS. He basically invented trickle down. These Cons love it and still vote for it as they did in 2017.
They LOVE the military people as long as they do their bidding. Once out and speak up against phony wars and they're trampled on. Now their full on with Trump and would allow him to turn this into another Russia as long as they have their place at the table.
