Just not super, batshit, crazy Republicans, bent on a 4th Reich. Not that long ago, Schmidt, Wilson, et al. were mortal enemies of candidates and policies we hold dear. Other than protecting American democracy, they still are.

they're some kind of reformed Republicans. Hopefully, we can soon resume our old fights over stuff like minimum wages, expanding ACA, etc. rather than if theocratic fascism is a viable alternative to liberal democracy.

Schmidt is not “involved” in any scandal. FOX as usual is working off a script of their own devising.

I read his public resignation letter, which came later. In my opinion, he bared his soul — your opinion may differ. But without using any pop-psych words like “triggered,” he described his own experience as a young adolescent who was sexually abused by a trusted adult, and I think the Weaver revelations just brought it all crashing back.

Schmidt says he is resigning so TLP can work on its diversity by getting a woman on the board to replace him. Given the intensity of his resignation letter, I think he needs to take a break.
