Well surpassed 2,500 turtles we are grateful for your support. We still do not have power. Resident turtles are out which are Merry Christmas, Allison and Hang Ten. Gerry and Fred are in the tanks and doing well, water temperature is being monitored closely.

They ran out of space at the rescue center, so the local convention center opened its doors to turtle storage. This video was from yesterday afternoon. By the time my mom sent it to me, there were so many more that she said, there is no empty floor space tonight.
Sea Turtle, Inc
Sunday, February 14: We have rescued 142 sea turtles so far today from the cold waters of the Laguna Madre Bay on South Padre Island, TX. Thank you goes out to Captain Henry for rescuing over 100 turtles today by volunteering to take our volunteers out on the water. Selfless acts like Captain Henrys reminds us of the wonderful and dedicated community we are lucky enough to be part of, says Wendy Knight, Executive Director of Sea Turtle Inc.
Tomorrow the temperature will fall even lower and hundreds of more turtles are in danger, we beg our community to keep watch for turtles and report any floating or washed ashore in your area. If you are not able to physically volunteer to look for turtles please consider helping us offset the tremendous cost of treating these patients by donating to Sea Turtle Inc.

(47,108 posts)10. You could also organize them by color, size and gender.
Make sure all heads and tails in same direction too.
Organizing turtles is a good distraction for Texans who are freezing?

(14,918 posts)4. I just made a small donation to Sea Turtle Inc., the group mentioned in the article.
I don't belong to Facebook so I couldn't use the link in the OP, but I looked up their website. To learn more about their work and, if you wish, support them:
