There's a massive uproar everywhere there have been issues, and it's only going to get worse.

This reminds me of the stupid comment about grandparents being willing to die of covid for "freedumb" for their grandkids. Dan Patrick, as I recall.

I guess the message here from Texas Republicans is, "Don't let liberal big government take away your God-given right to have your electricity bill go up 10,000% while your power is out!"

It's a lot of Texans who have frozen and burst pipes right now and no electricity. They're pissed, I'm betting. Wait until they find out that their homeowners insurance has an exception for damage caused by burst pipes. Wait until a lot of Texans who have moved out to the suburbs and haven't had electricity for a couple of days already realize that Texas isn't prepared for what has happened.

Lots of people are going to want answers from Texas political leaders. They aren't going to like being told that "It's OK! At least we don't have the damn Feds telling us what to do."
