Holy power spikes batman.. $9k/MWh in TX!!!

Some texans not under contract (paying spot pricing) are in for sticker shock, and everyone else is gonna get soaked over time.

So $9k MWh is $9 KWh. Normally prices are in the range of $0.10 KWh.

So bills that would normally be about $200 /month are gonna be $20k if my math is right here.

Meowch!!!!!

They can't.
And cutting everybody off would be a business apocalypse for the generators.
The generators & transmission folks are going to have to eat it, or Texas is heading for an economic meltdown.

But, expecting people or small business to absorb a 9000% increase is unrealistic.
The energy traders are likely to take a beating too. I don't know that they are too big to fail. They might just fail.
