17. My family has owned firearms since I was a kid.

I have owned them. One thing I could never understand is "gun people". People that pose with their guns, who take pictures of them and post them to show them off. People who "love" guns and whose primary preoccupation is with them. They are tools. Potentially dangerous and lethal tools that should be treated as such. You can practice to maintain proficiency. You can enjoy shooting. You must maintain them and keep them in working order. I just don't get when you start treating them like pets, toys, props, or something.

I think there was a website or group at one point called "Gun people who hate gun people". I may join one day.
