They are white supremacists.
Every time they say white nationalist they are making a horrible group of racist assholes sound like a legitimate political movement, with people who have real political and legal arguments to make.
They believe white people are superior. They hate minorities. They outwardly judge people by the color of their skin.
Stop sugar coating. Do your job and call them what they are.
They are racists and white supremacists.

(14,974 posts)It IS a political movement -- albeit not a legitimate one, imo -- and incompletely overlaps with white supremacy.
It isn't categorically a sugarcoat, it is a specific and potentially edifying distinction -- when used accurately. It is not a softened alternative label for the same entity.
Is it used sloppily? Yeah, sometimes. The media should get better about that, amongst many many many other things.

(525 posts)White supremacists believe in the inherent genetic superiority of the white race over other races.
White nationalists believe that there should be separate one race homelands for white people. White nationalists may or may not be supremacists. Many white nationalists base their ideology on cultural differences and not on biological superiority. The mass media tends to use the terms interchangeably which is a mistake.
