reelection' instead of stopping the virusThe White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci has described the turning point when he believes he no longer had influence over President Donald Trump.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph published Friday, Fauci opened up further on the dysfunction inside the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fauci, the longtime head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who served on Trump's coronavirus task force, has stayed in his post under President Joe Biden after Trump left office.
In the interview, Fauci said he had some influence on Trump initially but lost it after Trump decided to "essentially act like there was no outbreak."

His abject incompetence was a disaster for America, yet it also saved us from him becoming a permanent dictator.

(9,998 posts)Had he done the right things, said the right things, and supported people like Dr. Fauci, he would have easily won re-election.
He handed President Biden the biggest campaign issue of the last century on a silver platter.
I'm sorry for all those who died because of this monster, but thrilled that he did not act appropriately, so that we could get a decent, honorable and intelligent President in Joe Biden.
