North Cornwall police officer arrested by FBI in U.S. Capitol riot, township says

A North Cornwall Township police officer has been arrested by the FBI in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot in January.

Joseph Fischer, 54, is being detained in Dauphin County Prison, Dawn Clark, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's office, said.

He has been charged with obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds and obstruction of justice/Congress.

His township is located between Lancaster and Hershey. The flags, banners and yard signs are still proudly displayed. Some MAGA people even dug out their trump signs that were buried in the snow and put them where they could be seen. They’re diehards, and they don’t like masks.

The good news there were lots of Biden signs this year. The county is still basically red and unlikely to change, even with our aging population passing, but those Biden voters contributed to our state count.
