Can anyone here get a Ritz Carlton room in Cancun for less than $400 starting tomorrow?

The $400 price is for 2 people. The Cruz family would have probably gotten two double rooms next to each other, or perhaps a suite. I didn't see where discounts were allowed. If I read Heidi's email correctly, she was paying $305/night.

I tried for two rooms, and that is $460/per room. I see no discounts for govt officials or anyone else. Perhaps it helps to just tell the manager you are a US Senator.

I'll ask my brother. He travels a lot.

Or perhaps because Heidi works for Goldman Sachs? I just pulled this from the WWW. Perhaps this get-away was a celebration?

Fun Fact: Heidi Cruz is Managing Director at Goldman Sachs which own several TX Utility Companies such as Energy Future Holdings, which spiked their prices just as TX froze. And a drilling company that operates in TX told its investors like Jerry Jones they hit the jackpot.

On another topic, if Heidi works for Goldman Sachs, and if GS is invested in energy, and if the Cruz family is invested in GS, wouldn't that mean the Cruz family has benefited from the freeze? Has that been covered on DU? I'd like to read about that. TX energy is in high demand, and prices are going up.

At trip.com prepaid checking in on 2/21 for 2 people

I have stay at this hotel pre-Covid. The location is like downtown Detroit with a beach. The service is excellent but not one I would stay at again. Hell, no travel until vaccinations so everything is off into the future.

Let me put this out there then. I'm reading that TX utility customers' utility bills are extremely high nnow that the demand is so great....like $10,000?? I've read that Heidi Cruz has a high position with Goldman Sachs. If Goldman Sachs is a utility investor, and the Cruz family is invested in GS, that means that they would be making a lot of money off the tragedy. Maybe they went to Cancun to celebrate, not be good parents.
