(31,261 posts)only helps them. The best way to damage them is the show the competence of democrats (The Biden Administration) at tackling the problems there, and the compassion of Democrats (AOC, Beto, Julian Castro, and others) raising money and getting out to help people, person by person.

(25,476 posts)The weather event really was unprecedented. Record cold for a record length of time (many areas broke 100-year-old records), 30-year snow events, after two days of freezing rain. All combined into a massive clusterfuck.
It was bound to cause problems, like any historic weather event, but the issues would have been minimized absent the years of mismanagement and ERCOT's inability to plan and adapt, combined with deregulation and lack of oversight.
