Insurrection? What Insurrection?!

Conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza presented a curious take on the deadly and violent clash of Trump supporters on Capitol Hill carried out on January 6th in an attempt to interrupt the congressional certification of the Electoral College vote.

Half a dozen people died as a result of what many have fairly called an armed insurrection, including three Capitol Police officers. But, appearing on The Ingraham Angle, D’Souza had a different take on the historic events of that day. This was a hot topic on Capitol Hill as Tuesday saw a Senate hearing featuring former security officers to unpack what happened on that day.

“In reality, this was a bunch of rowdy people walking through a hallway,” D’Souza told Fox News host Laura Ingraham, suggesting that that accounts of that day shared by literally hundreds of elected officials and Capitol security veterans are false and being overplayed to score political points. Yes, he really did say that.
