(CNN) - In a South Florida war room, occupied most days by a party of one, a former President of the United States is plotting his return -- and his revenge.
He typically spends mornings on his nearby golf course, making and taking calls from a golf cart that doubles as his mobile, and self-driven, office. The multiple trips to the links in the last few weeks have served to accomplish a long-promised goal, says someone who spent time with him recently: Donald Trump claims he has increased his drive by 20 yards, a new favorite brag to golfing partners, or anyone who will listen.
Eighteen holes later, he leaves his Trump International Golf Club and returns to Mar-a-Lago, where he retreats within his quarters to his own private living space, separate from that of his wife, and ponders two main questions: Who is with him? And who is against him?
According to multiple people familiar with Trump's current habits, who requested anonymity to speak freely to CNN about the former President's day-to-day focus, his stated goal -- barring impact from ongoing criminal investigation -- is to run for president again, in 2024. Of course, he has no incentive to rule it out right now -- keeping himself in the mix helps sustain his kingmaker role. Looking to flex on 2022, he hopes to prove to both critics and supporters that he is the GOP's most effective puppeteer.

Trump is supposed to be the patriarch of a family with a prominent name (supposed to be).

(70,557 posts)He has tax fraud and bank fraud charges coming very soon, he has killed over 1/2 a million Americans,
and he funded what he hoped would be the violent overthrow of our democracy. Trump's future will
be a combination of the follow; death, jail, or being a pariah. Republicans who now still support him
will be running from him and pretending they never knew him.

Not making excuses just pointing out he's not firing on all cylinders.. So you have a deranged mind and on top of that, it's not working right.. what a mess..

(70,557 posts)1) He dies
2) He goes to prison
3) He is indicted for his criminal or financial misdeeds
4) He and his family have to flee the country
5) He and his family end up penniless
And if the GOP want to make Trump their leader great! Tie that millstone around their necks.

If he means he's driving his golf cart an additional 20 yards, I believe him.

(31,401 posts)so the extra 20 yards on his drive are probably from kicking the ball or picking it up and dropping it.
