Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine on March 2 😍

Dolly Parton shared images and video of herself receiving a Moderna COVID-19 vaccine dose on March 2, 2021. The iconic singer shared a photo and video with the caption, 'Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine' — a reference to the fact Parton herself donated $1M to Vanderbilt University in 2020 to support its COVID-19 research. Parton says she got involved after asking her longtime friend and Vanderbilt researcher Dr. Naji Abumrad how she could help in the fight against COVID-19. Dr. Abumrad, who worked on the research at Vanderbilt, said Parton's contribution was vital to the speed of the vaccine release, telling the Washington Post: 'Without a doubt in my mind, her funding made the research toward the vaccine go 10 times faster than it would be without it.' Dr. Abumrad personally gave Parton her first dose of the vaccine.
