*actually, only 6 racist Doctors Suess books. But they were his favorites. He Takes a month to read each one, two hours per night

(146,336 posts)The clerk reads the bills, unless there is a vote to waive the reading. Usually the reading is waived. The GQP Senators are simply using the reading to delay the vote.
Of course, none of the Senators will read the bills themselves. They don't do that. They may have staffers read the bills and point out issues they discover. But Senators don't read large bills themselves. They're "too busy for that."
Obstruction is their goal - always.
