Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee defended Neanderthals after President Joe Biden criticized Texas and Mississippi for lifting their mask mandates and called the decision "Neanderthal thinking."
In a Fox Business interview Thursday morning, Blackburn suggested it was actually a good thing to be called a Neanderthal.
Shortly after she made the comment, fellow lawmakers and members of the public mocked Blackburn and pointed out that her use of the present tense was incorrect given that Neanderthals are extinct.

(7,286 posts)How she became a Senator has to be due to corruption. Tennessee just can't be a state with a majority of Neanderthals.
Whatever the case, the irony that someone who clings on to "Evangelical Teachings" indicates she has some regard to Science, and ironically, the Science of Evolution. But like the majority of Evangelican Neanderthals, they tend to ignore the teachings of the New Testament, choosing instead to embrace and preach the more Neanderthal tainted aspect of the book they absolutely believe in over all else.
And she doesn't know how and where The Constitution of the United States is Amended as evidenced by a statement she made soon after Congress convened in January, saying that the Senate is not the place where changes are made to the Constitution.
She might be proud of being a Neanderthal, but she's apparently unaware that Homo sapiens "won out". Bigly.
Unfortunately for Homosapiens, Neanderthals are not completely extinct.
Hopefully Evolution will take care of that sooner rather than later.
