A Missouri pastor sparked outrage following a sermon he gave that many are calling sexist and misogynistic.
Pastor Stewart-Allen Clark of Missouri's Malden First General Baptist Church said in his Sunday sermon that women should look to maintain their figures and lose weight in order to keep their husband's attention. He also used a photo of former first Lady Melania Trump as an example of what women should aspire to.
Now look, Im not saying every woman can be the epic, epic trophy wife of all time like Melania Trump. Im not saying that at all," Clark said as a photo of Trump was displayed on screen. "Most women cant be trophy wives, but you know, maybe youre a participation trophy. I dont know, but all I can say is not everybody looks like that. Amen! Not everybody looks like that. But you dont need to look like a butch either.

(10,014 posts)A Missouri pastor is seeking "professional counseling" after having delivered a sermon that advised women to lose weight and aspire to resemble former first lady Melania Trump.
Pastor Stewart-Allen Clark of Missouri's Malden First General Baptist Church is on leave and in counseling, the church told local CBS News affiliate KCTV. Clark made waves with a Sunday sermon in February where he said that women should strive to stay slim to keep men interested.

Because God forbid that a woman look "butch." Never mind that the standards of what is masculine or feminine are completely arbitrary anyway.
Clark probably thinks it's a "sin" for a woman to cut her hair short or *gasp* not wear makeup. Everyone knows that a woman is supposed to always look perfectly put together, from the top of her head to the tips of her toes (which should of course be fetchingy clad in stiletto heels). AND she's supposed to have time for all that on top of doing ALL the housework, cooking, and child care (and she better not chip those perfectly manicured nails, either).
This dude makes me want to hurl.

(30,250 posts)I can't abide the type of man who expects women to look like Barbies, particularly when they look like Quasimodos. Years ago a friend was debating getting breast augmentation because her then boyfriend liked bigger breasts. I told her to tell him that he should get back to her when he enlarged his dick. The nerve of these jerks!!!
