https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9338343/PIERS-MORGAN-Meghan-Harrys-nauseating-two-hour-Oprah-whine-athon-disgraceful-diatribe.htmlHe's using the tried&true tactic of not actually quoting what has been said, merely giving his own summary instead. This way, he can get all furious and outraged over what has been said without revealing what specifically made him so angry.
(The russian media did this a lot during the Trump-era. They only ever quoted Trump, but never Democrats. It's hard to sell outrage when people can see that there's no reason for your outrage.)
"Thousands are dying of Covid! How dare she give this interview and complain about her private life?"
"She's pregnant! How dare she inflict all this public-relations stress on herself?"
"Prince Philipp is sick in hospital! How dare she not schedule her interview around the needs of a family that has let her down?
"How dare they dish this private information about the royal family!" And three paragraphs later: "Why don't they lay out precisely who said what to whom?"
"Also, how dare Harry complain about being cut off from his royal allowance when has inherited millions from his mother?" Thank God Piers Morgan has such a good insight into Harry's finances and knows how much they spend on staff and security.
Also, on the topic that Archie supposedly wasn't meant to become prince, that decision can ultimately only be made by the Queen, which means you just accused the Queen of being racist!
That is a direct attack on the Queen!
The Queen cannot possibly be racist by virtue of being Queen!
"Also, how could Harry possibly allow his wife to attack that which his grandmother loves most, the british monarchy?"
And Piers Morgan counters Harry's complaint that his father wasn't there for him emotionally with the argument that he was there for him financially. Because for Piers Morgan, the truest sign of fatherly love is money.

(7,947 posts)But the children of Prince Andrew are princesses-- the children of the second son of the monarch (which Harry will be when his father becomes king). So it does seem a bit of a slight.
The most sharp thing I think they said was, "They are willing to lie for one family member, but not to tell the truth about us."
Meaning that they are keeping Jeffrey Epstein's best buddy (Andrew) in the family, while casting out the one who had the temerity to marry "wrong"?
Good on Harry for supporting his wife, anyway.

(7,510 posts)The Letters Patent read: '...the grandchildren of the sons of any such sovereign in the direct male line (save only the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales) shall have and enjoy in all occasions the style and title enjoyed by the children of dukes of these our realms.'
Under the rules, only Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's eldest son Prince George - as a great-grandson of the monarch down the direct line of succession to the throne - was originally entitled to be a prince.
The Queen stepped in ahead of George's birth in 2013 to issue a Letters Patent to ensure all George's siblings - as the children of future monarch William - would have fitting titles, meaning they were extended to Charles and Louis.
Under the George V rules, Archie would be entitled to be an HRH or a prince when his grandfather Charles, the Prince of Wales, accedes to the throne.

(12,509 posts)Harry feels the gossipy character assassination press establishment created the conditions that killed his mother, and he wants none of it. He loves his wife and they should be left the f*** alone.
Morgan is a useless gossip monger.

(9,121 posts)And I loathe that man. I think I need to take a shower about this one.
The title thing is one of the most falsely-ringing things about the story. Think about it for a moment. Elizabeth. Who has made the Commonwealth her entire life's work, a family of nations including a whole hell of a lot of people with black skin, somehow decided that Archie shouldn't get a title? Come on. It rings so false as to be totally absurd.
He makes some good points. He makes some terrible ones.
I cannot believe people are so unquestionably swallowing that entire interview. It was at points hilarious in just how absurdly self-serving it was. At some points, I kept wondering if it was parody. That people are so taken in about it . . . I think it's because it's just what people want to believe. So they go all in on it. I'm not fond of the royals either. But I do admire Elizabeth a great deal. She has sacrificed quite a lot in what she believes to be service to her country. The rest of them . . . eh . . .
This is not questioning the racism of the royals and that class of privilege. I have zero doubt it exists and that Markle experienced it and had to deal with it. But this, "If you don't believe every single thing she said, you're insensitive to race!" attack has already gotten old after less than a day.
I promised myself I wouldn't get into this, but here I am. I made the mistake of finishing my work early today. Ugh. Think I'll go play something on the Switch. I mean, I'm quietly amused so many people bought what was so pointedly manufactured to specifically get them to buy in. But it's so over the top now that it's starting to get a little gross.

(101,368 posts)It seems Morgan feels he was cut off by Markle, and has trashed here ever since:
Beresford said: I understand that you dont like Meghan Markle, youve made it so clear a number of times on this programme, and I understand youve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she cut you off. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I dont think she has but yet you continue to trash her...
Morgan, 55, then stormed out of the studio, saying: OK, Im done with this, sorry, no, cant do this. Beresford called his behaviour pathetic and diabolical.
He added: Im sorry but Piers spouts off on a regular basis and we all have to sit there and listen, 6.30 to seven oclock yesterday was incredibly hard to watch, incredibly hard to watch. This is, you know, he has the ability to come in here and talk from a position where he doesnt fully understand.
...
His comments that he did not believe Meghans disclosure that she had suicidal thoughts have drawn criticism from the mental health charity Mind, which said it was concerned and disappointed by them.
