(32,611 posts)I can not imagine a wild animal doing that in a populated area. Guess he/she was really really satisfied with their meal.

(58,785 posts)babies under our house slab behind the water heater. And, as they became able, bring them in the cat door to dine in our kitchen while our family wound down in the living room a few feet away. The tiny skunks following their mom around our patio and kitchen were beyond cute too, and we were very careful to keep it cute. Until someone visited with a large dog and encountered her in the driveway. She won, and there was no way to close the windows fast enough.
Sadly, she took her family to a presumably safer place after that, although in hindsight it was probably for the best. The friend and his dog never returned either.

(4,568 posts)it is absolutely necessary. Try to evict them and you might get stink bombed. Far better to tolerate then until they leave on their own.
If they really outwear their welcome, gently try to heard them out the door with a blanket held in front of you or using bait (cat food and tuna work well).
The supposed reason skunks are reluctant to spray is that if they run out of "ammo", they are pretty much defenceless (can't even run fast, jump up or climb trees and claws are not at all sharp).
