Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), arguing against an expansion of the earned income tax credit in the relief bill, via CBS Milwaukee: “I know the strength that Black Lives Matter had in this last election. I know it’s a group that doesn’t like the old-fashioned family. Disturbed that we have another program here in which we’re increasing the marriage penalty.”

That brought an angry reaction from Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-VI): “We have been able to keep our families alive for over 400 years. How dare you say that we are not interested in families in the Black community? That is outrageous. That should be stricken down.”

had families who loved them and spoke out for them. They had friends and community behind them. And soon they had the majority of the country with them in the struggle. That is a lot of families. This politician is testing speaking points that make white anti BLM americans feel morally superior to BLM.Fail!!! IMHO.

Not only is this asshole anti black, he is homophobic. I have heard this before. They highlight that some of the founders of BLM are gay. So of course that must mean they don't value families.
Thats the thing with hate, it doesn't have to make any damn sense. Asking for queer people to be treated fairly, is not valuing family apparently.
Bayard Ruskin - who played a significant role along side Dr. King was gay. James Baldwin was neither in the closet or open, but I think its widely known that he would be what we consider Queer today. .Gay people fighting to dismantle white supremacy is nothing new.

I can imagine no fate more fraught than to have Delegate Plaskett rise to speak against you. She speaks with the voice of truth.

He should have introduced an amendment during the legislative process. I guess he'd want to limit the stimulus to only married white couples? Why don't they just come out and say what they're feeling? What a turd, can't come up with anything but racism. If he was truly superior he'd be unafraid of the supposed lessors getting extra, as they'd just loose it, or what ever BS he imagines.

Notice all this is in jest making fun of racism and in no way does it endorse any view but that we are equal other then differences in opportunities.
