I saw a clip on CNN this morning. They had him on tape. He was telling them how bad everything was in Fulton County and that she would be highly praised if she would do his bidding.
It was most inappropriate, to say the least, and very likely, illegal.
He was at the point where he had no concern for the law or anything else, so long as he could try to win the election.
It was all a precursor to the inciting the insurrection at the Capitol.
What a low-life he is.

(47,140 posts)the election. We wondered why he was even bothering with GA since it did not give him an election win. It was about "proving" the election was rigged so he could declare ML.

(182,839 posts)Wisconsin was just as close but he went after Georgia.
His MO is to change the story and then declare victory even when he loses - lawsuits, his lawsuits, casinos, etc. This is no different.

(10,024 posts)I was disappointed after hearing this taoe that the women, I think her name was Frances, did not even try to correct Trump when he claimed he had won and something bad had happened. That was a perfect opportunity for her to tell the truth that he had lost. Why didnt she?
I think this tape is less damaging than the call to Raffensberger.

I see gibberish and a complete lack of knowledge... I see delusion.
I don't see anything illegal in his WORDS.

(15,127 posts)that he may have thought if he got one of the states to flip the results, then he would be able to go to the others and insist that they do so as well. You are right that Georgia alone would not have changed the result.
I think he definitely was listening to Flynn about the ML bit. If the military hadn't told him POINT BLANK that they would not follow any orders like that, he might have gone ahead and tried it.

(111,104 posts)If he could have gotten Georgia declared for him, he would have declared the other states for himself, throwing into doubt the entire election.

(15,646 posts)imagine going through life with your mind constantly in that mode? What manipulation can I do to put me in the best position to get what I want? Not, what can I do honestly and genuinely to give myself the best chances to succeed in achieving my goal, but what can I manipulate and what do I have to manipulate to get what I want?
Its mind-blowing!

(47,140 posts)like this. Claiming victim status, always conniving and manipulating others for gain.
If they spent half as much time doing the right thing they could have been successful.
But they are really too crazy, and cannot think in a normal way.

(15,127 posts)And she very rarely plays his voice on her show.
It was stunning! C'mon Grand Jury! Do your job!

(9,897 posts)1) Trump studied Hitler and Mussolini in the hopes of becoming a dictator for life
2) Like everything else in his entire life, he was a resounding failure at execution...
The scariest thing is our system's vulnerabilities and our population's propensity for adhering to dictatorial command were laid bare for all to see. It will still take the combination of a conniving gameshow host AND a brilliant strategist to recreate the situation of 06-Jan-2021....but IF that does happen, the world will know another round of fascism and dictators and a very likely 3rd World War with hellish outcomes.
We barely dodged a bullet because the moron with the gun this time is lucky he has people around to tie his shoes and make sure he is not crapping himself and sitting in it for hours. Next time, I doubt we get that lucky twice...

(111,104 posts)Not a secret pardon. Not a public pardon. There is no law on Earth that would permit a person to pardon themselves, in my opinion.

(12,452 posts)Not sure if he's a complete moron or a genius (ok, I know the answer to that) but there's nothing clear in his spoken words.
And probably nothing illegal.
I suggest listening to the tape.
"Something bad happened..."
"The ballots are corrupt..."
"I just want to find 11,780 votes..."
"Did they shred ballots?"
"Dominion moved the machines out..."
"Brad, there's nothing wrong with saying you recalculated..."
Those are the highlights of the Raffensberger call.
Do we all KNOW what he meant? Sure.
But did he actually SAY any of that? no.
