So Chuck Grassley, who is now 87, filed FEC paperwork to keep his campaign options open for relect i

umm.. Hope he decides not to run. I do believe it is time for 'fresh" bodies to be able to sit as Senators from Iowa.
But Democrats have some elders as Senators also. Not necessarily ageism --it is time for new ideas to reign. IMHO

He has a very nice fat pension from the US Taxpayers to keep him comfy.

He should not run again. I don't think Sen. Feinstein should have run in 2018.

Grassley is a GOP Senator. Therefore, one knows:

1. He is a Sociopath.
2. He is an Egoist.
3. He loves Power more than anything else in life.

Surely, no elderly Democrat would ever cling to Power far too long in to their Dotage (Feinstien... cough cough...).

That said, whoever "Joan" is can fuck right off with her Term Limits BS.

Yes he does. And the one that counts is Patrick — currently the Speaker of the Iowa House. Chuck wants him to follow him. I have always believed he wants to run for re-election (which is guaranteed if he runs) so that Governor Covid Kim can appoint Pat as his successor. (He better get an iron clad guarantee she won’t appoint herself instead.)

He lived at Walter Reed Hospital and they'd wheel him in for a vote when needed. Lindsey has Strom's seat now.

Chuckles DOES have a grandson. He is Speaker of the Iowa House of Representatives, and the guy is AWFUL. I'm sure he would LOVE to take Grandpa's place in the Senate.

Give me Rob Sand!

Now, if he leaves the Senate, no one will hire him. What could he do in Iowa? Operate machinery? Hell no -- He would be a talking hazard, as all he now knows is talking.

Perhaps he could retool himself and become a preacher. Iowa has a shortage of them.
