Even as he tries to plot a political survival strategy in the face of sexual misconduct allegations, Mr. Cuomo is an object lesson on the dangers of kicking people on the way up.
Last spring, when the coronavirus outbreak was surging in New York, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomos daily briefings became appointment television for many, as he authoritatively ticked through the latest statistics on infections, hospital beds and deaths.
Behind the scenes, Mr. Cuomo was often obsessed with another set of numbers: his ratings. He would sometimes quiz aides as soon as he ended a broadcast about which networks carried him live and exactly when they cut away data they were expected to have at their fingertips.
For an image-obsessed politician who has long devoured almost everything written about him, it was an intoxicating amount of attention as Mr. Cuomo transformed almost overnight into a national leader of the Democratic Party and a foil for President Donald J. Trump. To the 59 million viewers who shared in these daily briefings, Mr. Cuomo said on his 111th and final daily update, thank you.

(53,840 posts)I'm sorry. I just find it hard to believe Cuomo has been harassing women since then, and all through the #Me_too movement, without it coming out before now, now that he'll be up for election soon.
Investigate pls.

In interviews over the past week, more than 35 people who have worked in Mr. Cuomos executive chamber described the office as deeply chaotic, unprofessional and toxic, especially for young women.

But remember, it's the issue of the Covid nursing home numbers too.
I would not be surprised to find that someone in the (cough cough Roger Stone cough cough) camp might be behind some of these allegations.

Which is why almost every voice calling for him to resign is from within the party.
