That bill apparently federalized specific local databases that would have closed, amongst other things, a loophole that would allow a threatening spouse or SO to be able to purchase guns even if there was a restraining order on file, even if the state turned a blind eye on that sort of thing.

Absolutely we should regress - get back to an era when there was only law when TPTB felt like it.

Also...the Catholic church seems to attach more importance to assault rifles than they do to women. At least, I've never seen a ceremony specifically blessing women as a group...a collective. Assault rifles? Oh, sure. They get holy water.

The press needs to ask these people locally and very pointedly why they would vote NO on a bill to protect women. This is sickening.
