Today has been an exciting day. Since we're all adults I won't use abbreviations for the curse words. The story is funnier with them spelled out. I'm putting gas in my car at the Sinclair station at the corner of Canoga Avenue and Sherman Way in Canoga Park. At $3.49 for unleaded, it's the cheapest gas I'm aware of in the Valley. After I enter my card and it's accepted the pump stops working and it says something like "pump stopped-go inside ". So I go inside and the guy working there says "wait two minutes". OK. I waited about one minute and it worked.
Well, the guy next to me pumping gas was apoplectic. It was like something out of Goodfellas or Reservoir Dogs. The manager comes outside to check the car wash which is about ten feet from the pump and the guy hollers " turn on the gas, you fucken idiot." The manager shot him a bird.

(99,714 posts)I checked my credit card and I wasn't charged for the purchase which I believe to be around thirty-five dollars though there is a one dollar pending charge.

(38,328 posts)... when the gas station ran out of gas. It wasn't a great neighborhood, one of those self serve places with a lone clerk sitting behind bullet proof glass.
Some people went ape shit. They were pounding on the station's windows, yelling, vandalizing stuff, demanding that the pumps be turned back on...
I managed to get out of line and drive away just as the cops were arriving. Fortunately I still had a gallon or two of gas left.

(99,714 posts)That guy was so upset. He was pissed because he didn't want to pay at least twenty cents a gallon more somewhere else.
