This passes for "expertise"? Elaina Plott of the NYT just now on Morning Joe:

"We really are a 50-50 nation"----and no one questioned that.

Subtly---gradually---bullshit becomes "accepted fact".

My mind screams at such well-coiffed ignorance, which proves, I guess, what an irascible dinosaur I am.

I looked her up, she reports ON the Republicans. Not that she’s a mouthpiece for them but she has to spend a lot of time with them and all that bullshit has to leave a residue.

What’s his name from Axios didn’t looked to happy at the end about his lack of air time.

based on Nov. 2020 popular vote totals vs. eligible voters. Even with the highest turnout in a century.

the 50 GOP senators represent far fewer people than the 50 Democrats. We need proportional representation in the Senate. A lot of small, rural and predominantly white states have the same representation in the Senate as do large, urban states.

The Presidential Election vote was 51/47

The Senate is 50/50

The House is 50.3/49.7

Never understand why people get so angry when someone says something they don’t like.

Yes, the Senate is "50-50", but those 50 Democrats represent over 20 million more Americans than the 50 Republicans.

Even Gallup shows "Democrats-Democrat leaning" voters lead "Republican-Republican leaning" voter by 8 or 9 per cent.

"50-50" is a rationalization for unnecessary "compromise" with a rabid minority whose goal is our total destruction.

from issue to issue, most people agree with most of what we stand for. Right now, even a clear majority of REPUBLICAN voters---not their "leaders"---support the 1.9 trillion dollar landmark legislation that just became law.

"50-50" is Republican wishful thinking and currently their go-to propaganda tool.

If 47-48% don’t vote for you, ESPECIALLY when the alternative is Donald Trump, that’s a pretty even split.

and the fact is, we won the Senate by a wider margin than that, and the House by only a slightly less wide margin. We aren't really 50/50, we are slightly more Dem than GOP, the GOP just has benefits both legit and illicit that they get.
