January 6th, ten weeks later, it is still a day of shame.

They came to Washington by the thousands. They could have all been carrying torches and going to the hanging.

They were not "law-abiding" citizens. They were not "patriots". They were a violent mob.

What they did was shameful.

But, many of them now argue that they left after the rally. They did not go to the Capitol. They did not participate in the violence.

However, they did carry the torch to Washington. They may not have carried the rope for the hanging? And they may not have made the trip to the hanging tree? But they are not free from responsibility.

January 6th was a day of infamy. It should never be forgotten. Perhaps it should be a day of remembrance? A Day for Democracy?

Because on that day, democracy did win. The violent mob lost.

We need to resolve that this is what happened.

It is important that we put January 6th in its proper perspective.

They would like that very, very much.
