(22,157 posts)"Moderna, whose vaccine also received emergency use authorization in the U.S. in December, has not begun trials focusing on pregnancy, but has created a registry to track pregnant women who get its vaccine. Johnson & Johnson, which received emergency use authorization for its vaccine last month, said that it plans to include pregnant women and their infants in its studies as well as collect data on pregnant women via a registry.
Pregnant women were excluded from the original trials of Moderna and Pfizers COVID-19 shots, a common practice in such studies."
But a number have already received the vaccine.

(2,412 posts)Our physician daughter wanted to make a point and contribute to medical science. She was fully vaccinated by the time our granddaughter was born. So it looks like the vaccine is safe in the last month or two......still waiting for a large enough sample to weigh in.

(16,226 posts)this would really move us forward!! We give all kinds of vaccines safely during pregnancy. A notable exception is the MMR which is definitely NOT SAFE during pregnancy. Flu and Tdap given routinely with no issues. Hope Covid is another that we can give safely because this is REALLY GOOD news!
