It still has my deposit date of 3/17 to a closed account.
My mom is STILL Not Available when others have gotten dates after the update. She is on Social Security and did not file for 2019 or 2020. She still got stimulus 1 and 2, even if 2 was mailed. Did any in her situation get updates?
Getting scared now.

(31,039 posts)The last time they sent paper checks but they got my bank account number right this time, so I will look for it in my account next week.

(65,180 posts)Because I really am worried for my mom and me. Think I will call the IRS tomorrow. Or my Congressperson.

(31,039 posts)My Social Security payment is deposited in my account every month. Dont know why they decided to deposit it this time instead of a paper check. My sister-in-law is a retired IRS attorney, and she takes care of my taxes, very grateful for that. Good luck with yours. Call them up, call your Congress person if necessary. I think youll get it OK.

(65,180 posts)I hope we are not forgotten. Since my mom did not file, could they still be getting her correct info from the SSA?
My deposit obviously still did not kick back.

(4,904 posts)I've moved since last year, and can't remember if I changed my address. I tried both addresses and got locked out of the site.
I filed a paper tax return last year. Haven't filed for this year yet. I've heard that if you used a paper return, it could delay things because they are behind on processing old tax returns due to staffing and covid.

(10,885 posts)of my payment. Notice says it's scheduled for deposit on 3/24/21, but no amount indicated.
I am on Social Security, and they are depositing to same account as my SS. My first two payments came in the form of mailed checks. Taxes were filed online w/payment for 2019, but not yet for 2020.
Good luck to you - hope you receive your payment soon. Looks like they're being released in weekly batches.
So you filed also. The reason my mom is still waiting could be that she did not file for either year.

(19,566 posts)My first was a check for some unknown reason. Second was direct deposit. I just checked and it now (not before) shows me scheduled for next Wednesday the 24th as a direct deposit.
I've read it's weekly rollout, which this would seem to be the case now. I hope you're scheduled for the week of the 31st. Check next Friday evening and see if it updates for you.

(65,180 posts)The only thing I can think of is they need more info because she didnt file. Thank you for the encouragement. I feel really depressed tonight.
On top of that, I still need my deposit to a closed account updated.

(19,566 posts)The, payment status not available, thing. Which is where they blather it could be due to them needing more info, etc.
Did she get the $600 one in January? If so this one should be good.
As to yours, log into your IRS account and see if there's some resource there you can use is my advice.
It originally went to a closed account like mine. She got a check. This is the SECOND time mine went to a closed account. So she still SHOULD get the third, and mine should be mailed again.

(19,566 posts)How long did it take to get the mailed checks? My spouse and I were trying to recall earlier today and it's a memory somehow erased in the stress of 2020.

(65,180 posts)But the IRS for a while wasnt even planning on reissuing. So I hope this time is quicker.

(19,566 posts)This is the # for stimulus payment assistance at the IRS, maybe it'll be of some assistance since they're obviously in error in your case.

(9,291 posts)but going into the account that my SS direct deposit doesnt go into. They are using my husbands SS checking account. All good.
No amount, the rest have all been direct Deposit. We filed our taxes this year online.
Hope it all works out for you.

(2,191 posts)Has anyone had that happen? Every day it's said that I'm qualified to get it and when it was ready it would be deposited into my bank account (which they just took my income tax from last week). Tonight's update says that my payment will be MAILED on March 26. My other payments have been online.
I can't find any information online about why this might have changed or if I can change it. I'd appreciate it if anyone can direct me to any answers.
I don't have a local bank and will have to deposit it using my phone.

(14,971 posts)stimulus checks direct deposited into my bank account. The IRS has my account number but it says theyre mailing it out on March 26th. Wtf?
More_Cowbell
(2,191 posts)Apparently one reason it could happen is because the bank rejected the direct deposit -- which shouldn't have happened, but I don't know what else could have happened.

(15,259 posts)I'm not sure why our payment is getting mailed instead of direct deposited, however, but c'est la vie. The very first payment we got in early 2020 was via direct deposit, but then the $600 was mailed instead in December, and it seems that's what's happening again now.

(6,280 posts).... are both on Social Security. After receiving our first two payments by check in the mail, and expecting another long wait, I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see our $1,400 stimulus in the bank by direct deposit.

(533 posts)I'm 81 years old and I haven't filed taxes in several years. Stimulus 1 & 2 were both directly deposited to my account. I tried the IRS site again a few minutes ago. Still zip. (It never worked for the first two checks either) I'm relieved that the IRS will extend the income tax filing date. My SS is deposited on the 2nd Wednesday so if I haven't received the 3rd stimulus by then I suppose I'll try to file a tax return.

In under a week, the IRS sent out 90 million checks to families and individuals who qualified for the third stimulus check. But if you receive Supplemental Security Income or Social Security Disability Insurance benefits, you may not be in the group receiving the first wave of $1,400 payments this week. It's also unclear whether the money will go out next week..."

Most things seem to say that you will get your check in whatever way they send your monthly funds, but that the first wave of check went out to tax payers
Also my info isnt in the find my check web thingy either and wont be until its processed (disability)

(129,370 posts)I get my federal income tax refunds via paper check (so I can choose upon receipt where to deposit it). So the last 2 stimulus checks were mailed as paper checks - the 1st took a little awhile and the 2nd literally came in the mail within the week after the bill was signed.
This time I figured it would take awhile (new administration and all) and for the hell of it, did the "check status" thing and it indicated it was scheduled to be "deposited today". And it most certainly was (in my main checking account). I actually get a federal retirement annuity direct deposited every month so someone obviously figured it would be faster and cheaper to just use that - i.e., someone apparently "looked it up, saw that already on file for a government direct deposit, and ran with it".
