The Tiger Woods crash investigation has unearthed some troubling evidence ... because law enforcement sources tell us they believe Tiger never hit the brakes as he careened off the road and there's no evidence he took his foot off the gas either.
The investigation has been going full steam since the accident nearly a month ago. The Sheriff's Dept. has been looking at the SUV, the crash site and many other pieces of evidence. They are also retrieving data from the SUV's black box. So far, we're told investigators believe Tiger did nothing to prevent the crash once he lost control of the vehicle.
Sources with direct knowledge say investigators have looked at various videos ... from the hotel where he started the ill-fated drive to various surveillance cameras along the way.
We're told before Tiger got to the scene of the crash he had been driving "normal" and not speeding, but the evidence indicates he accelerated and was speeding when he lost control.

(17,865 posts)while driving. It seems like he was overworked. I wish the people around him had insisted on a driver/bodyguard. For someone worth nearly a billion dollars, this seems to make a lot of sense. $200K/yr. including benefits for security and an opportunity to rest would be great value for someone like him.
This does smell to high heaven though:
"That said, the Sheriff never attempted to get a warrant to draw blood in order to test for medications."
Even if he was the only one injured, you have the matter of civil costs (vehicle owned by the tournament and the damage he did in the crash).

(17,314 posts)I'd do the job for $150K. A $50K discount for my mediocre bodyguarding abilities.

(53,833 posts)have happened to local drivers even. Are all those people involved in the other accidents SOBs also?

(269,157 posts)He says way too many people drive high end rentals on roads they know nothing about and operate as if it's their neighborhood home stretch.
I am always in the slow lane on unfamiliar roads and highways.

(3,579 posts)When driving you just lose your concentration, it happens.
But having said that, maybe what happens was a cry for help.

(53,833 posts)involving local drivers even. Accidents happen. He was unfamiliar with the road, a downhill section, easy to gain speed on, and with a sweeping curve.
I'm betting their highway dept. is working on ways to make that section of road safer.

(4,220 posts)Anybody else that crashes out like that, careening over the median and over two oncoming lanes of traffic into essentially the woods get tested by the LA Sheriff's Department. They love that kinda case. Especially a person of color. Been on that road many times, sorry it ain't that bad.
Does the Sheriffs Department unload and carefully stack and then transport all accident victims belongings before the damaged vehicle is towed??? Because a Deputy Sheriff at one point looked like Tiger's freaking caddy with a set of golf clubs slung on his back as he walked from the damaged car to a cruiser... Along with his suitcases and hand luggage....
I don't know if he was impaired or not but we will never know because of the VIP treatment he received...
I really don't care, I am glad he's doing fine now but I do know he got treated a bit different than if he was a person of color from the area. For sure. No doubt.

(5,008 posts)A director of a show being filmed at the hotel said Tiger almost hit him as he was leaving the hotel. He said that before the accident. I think he might have been distracted and running late.
