President Biden
@POTUS
United States government official
The CDC represents the best of this nation. Brilliant minds. Deep faith in science. And a strong commitment to public service. On Friday, Vice President Harris and I stopped by to thank them for all the work they do.

(58,785 posts)5. The past four years has been extremely difficult for them as they struggled
to do their duty, and to not abandon it to walk away, while Trump with Republican congressional collusion appointed corrupt administrators, ordered the CDC to betray its mission and leadership during a planetary crisis, and wielded it as a political tool.

I think "trust in science" would have been better. Too many right-wingers think science is like religion, abstract, unverifiable, mostly made-up. They think their story of God making the entire Universe in six twenty-four hour days 6,000 years ago is truer than science.
