I have been giving the Pfizer vaccination for two months now. Every day, some people forget their vaccination card when they come back for their second dose. I have to make up a new card for them which takes time since I have to look up their first dose information. Please keep your vaccination card in a safe place. Also, it is a good idea to take a picture of the card after you get vaccinated and keep it for your records just in case you lose it. You would be surprised at the number of people who tell me they lost or threw away their vaccination cards after their first dose.
I tell everyone when I hand them the card to put it in a safe place and bring it back for the second dose, Yesterday, I had a man yell at me that no one told him to keep the card so he threw it in the garbage after his first dose.
The vast majority of people that have got the vaccination have been great. I have been thanked many times a day. One of the nice parts of the job is interacting with the people. It is unusual to deal with a rude or angry person.

(6,688 posts)A nephew is giving them at UC downtown. It is a drive up. People have been flat out abusive like it is his fault getting the appointment was a pain. Add in the issues with cards, general everyday rudeness and working with car exhaust all day.
The rotate out with another team.
Thanks for posting. A reminder about the cards and what staff are facing every day.
Thank you for your service.

(17,444 posts)I put it with my passport, SS card, birth certificate, check refills and other such documents in a drawer. Unimportant things do not go in that drawer. It took me many years to get that disciplined.
The real trick will be remembering to bring it with me.

(9,353 posts)If you laminate your original one it cant be added to if you need a booster shot or something else.
I thought that was a good idea.

(3,275 posts)I recommend to people that they make a copy to laminate but not to laminate the original.

(10,137 posts)if the CDC had produced a card the size of a driver's license or credit card, one that fits in the average wallet. But I'm not complaining - at least I got the Moderna vaccine with a lot less hassle than most people.

(3,275 posts)I get some cards that were folded in half to fit in their wallet.
