I doubt there is any solid statistic on it. I suspect they are extrapolating from Trump's most dedicated supporter percentage. (which might arguably be a starting point).

(and I'm just guessing), that would mean half of them are white supremacists. That seems high. You'd have to exclude children up to a certain age, before they're taught to be racist, so that lowers the number.

By the 2020 election there was no doubt that trump was a racist, bigot, and sexist, so anyone who voted for trump didn't have a problem with that, and out of that demographic, a sizable portion were definitely white supremacists. Keep in mind trump got the endorsement of david duke

.....and bigoted. He grew up in the deep South and maintains that many there are quite proud of their ignorance. The red-neck cliche, he maintains, is quite accurate.

Racism does come in degrees. It's not an all or nothing thing.

White supremacists are at the extreme end so I'd wager 15 percent give or take five.
