Just curious to see what you did with it, to those who got it. I used it to pay my debts, it really helped a lot.

(10,208 posts)I never got the first one at all and the second one took a long time, then they sent me one of those debit cards. Im just hanging onto it right now, I was going to help my son buy a car, but it fell thru. I think hes still looking though, so want to have some money to help out if/when it happens. I was kind of relieved when the deal fell thru because he wanted a hot rod. Unfortunately he still does. Not much I can do to discourage that, I guess I was the same way at his age.

(7,473 posts)If I can't pay the taxes, I will lose the house. Believe me, there have been times when it has been close. I now eat stuff that I would never have bought before. Trying to save is next to impossible for some of us. Everything from the cost of food, gas, utilities has gone up in price. Thanks President Biden. Lifesaver.

(9,267 posts)Im their nanny and the big ones (10 and 7) really need something to do all day while I watch the little one (now 2). The camp is run by the towns Park and Rec and has an excellent reputation. Will be outdoors, weather permitting. The 10 yo is already addicted to her phone and this will be good for her. And my sanity.

I need it even more for basics after what stupid Verizon did. I had a nice (but still overpriced) payment plan going. Was a few days late paying for this month and yesterday I was shut off with no warning. This time they required $400 to get it put back on. My payment plan was $190 per month through June. But the whole thing is now cancelled.

(717 posts)Keeping the money local. Will have some work done in the garden, a new walk way, the old one is coming up in places. Maybe a room or two painted. We get an update and some local handymen get a payday.

2. Pair of Adidas shoes
3. Rack for my hickory golf clubs
4. New pencil golf bag
5. Inexpensive turntable
6. $300 local restaurant takeout
My cc is clear, my car is paid, and I almost put half into savings, but Yellen and others encourage spending, so I am indulging in some new golf stuff and a turntable.

Funny thing is I got a letter from the IRS about the $600 stimulus on the same day people started getting their third payment. I'm sure I'll get it eventually, but it's kind of frustrating to keep getting the "Status not available" message when I check every morning.

(11,476 posts)Bushes in back died because our water table is too high even though we added extra dirt. So we are planting trees instead by the fences.
And dental bills we have no insurance for that, they don't cover enough to make it getting on our own at our senior age.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)homeowner's insurance won't renew us until we get it replaced - apparently the one in there now has a recall on it.
Also had our fence gate repaired - it's a vinyl fence only a few years old but high winds apparently damaged it more than we knew. It started falling down a few weeks ago and was just barely staying closed because I tied the two panel together with rope.
Also having trees trimmed back away from roof - another insurance thing.
Basically having stuff done that we know has needed to be done but couldn't afford to.
And we put a deposit on a hotel room at the beach for our 35th anniversary in July. It's the same place we stayed on our honeymoon and thought it would be fun to revisit. I was determined to have at least 1 fun thing out of all the stuff we had to do lol.

(12,132 posts)I had no idea this was a thing until their inspector told us.
this is my grandma and grandpa's house built new in 1975 and everything except the AC, the washer and dryer is the same. We are slowly getting things replaced but I reckon that is a very important item.
Especially since I use a TON more electric/electronic stuff than he did. (Hell, he kept the AC on 80 lol) (And still wore a sweater most of the time!)
