Cannabis use ought to be 'don't ask, don't say' off-work activity.

Actual behavioral problems can be addressed without assumptions that Friday night makes M-F work suspect.

But when it comes to security clearance, I will go with whatever the security experts say. If they say weed use prevents you from getting the adequate security clearance to do your job then that's what it is.

By the way, this isn't very different from the first releases about White House staffers and marijuana usage, it's just a more explicit clarification of what happened, or didn't happen.

If we look back to last week when this first broke, it was pretty obvious that no one was dismissed but many people looked past that for some reason.

That possibility would fit into the loopholes of the languaging that the WH used here.

If they lied about using cannabis on their many disclosure and clearance forms that would be grounds for dismissal.

Any falsehood on those would void your clearance and lead to your termination. (Unless you were one of the former guy's relatives pr cronies).

This was from a journalist working for Playboy & CNN.

The Daily Beast reported this days ago:

Several staffers were informally told by transition officials that some past marijuana use would be overlooked, only to be told later that they were being asked to resign.

And from MSNBC:

https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/biden-s-white-house-firing-staffers-marijuana-use-s-mistake-n1261700

And an AP article stated:

5 White House staffers lose jobs over drugs, marijuana use
By JOSH BOAK

So, what's the truth here???

One afternoon I was chatting with a co-worker. Pot use must have been in the news or something. He said we should all be tested, I looked at him and said "you must want to do a BUNCH of overtime" I explained that he was just about the only person in the building that did not smoke lol.

I voted for them even though they both have long anti-cannabis records. This all started when yellow journalist Hearst teamed up a DuPont, the emerging BIG pharma, BIG medicine and the coming BIG oil to suppress their feared "race mixing" and class solidarity arising around the Jazz scene.
Heaven forbid they judge individuals by the merit of their work quality.

Tax it like cigarettes. Regulate it like alcohol. A portion of the revenue (which would be significant) could be used for addiction treatment (for much worse controlled substances and alcoholism).
