I finally got an appointment

For my first injection of the Moderna vaccine.

I'm pretty excited about this.

1. Of course and congrats! You'll love being that much safer.

We just got our second and now have to wait awhile, but after THAT! It's literally been a year of high risk and deprivation. But almost mostly over. and soon for you and yours too.

2. Had the first one, waiting for my second in a couple of weeks.

Very minor sore arm from the first shot, that was it.

3. Minimum reaction, that's what I'm hoping for as well

Have to work the next day. Fingers crossed.

4. First Pfizer this morning at a Walmart pharmacy. Interviewed by two pharmacists...

And the registered tech, and of course, the initial screener. Reviewing my seizure history and current meds, then my two anaphylaxis reactions to lidocaine during intubations. No reactions to vaccinations, and had my doctor's okay, so we were good to go. The second pharmacist and I had a nice chat, and I told him I was dancing in my living room when I got this appointment. He told the gal giving me my vax, that I was a 'High Fiver!'... She laughed and said she was too, and we both air-fived! I was like a puppy getting adopted! I was so excited. I was surrounded by people who acted like it was a chore to be there, I didn't get it. Anyway, I am still happy and walking on sunshine. I drive a manual 5, so had them use my left arm, that way, my arm would get plenty of movement driving- I do the same with the flu shot every year. I am still a High Fiver and so excited!!

Glad I have both appointments already because CA is opening up the eligibility for vaccines on 4/1 to everyone over 50 and then on 4/15 to everyone over 16. It's going to be tough to get an appointment come 4/1!!

14. I just got my first shot last Tuesday

My injection site is sore but that’s all. I’ll get the second one in about a month.
