Was he being violent? I haven't seen a reason for dragging him out.
Anyone know?

(14,077 posts)He was saying that he was claustrophobic and having something like a panic attack. It looked to me like they tried to buckle the seat belt and couldn't do it. I think they wanted to hobble him. The 4th officer Thou(sp?) was looking in the back of the car for something, I think the strap they use to hobble people.

(54,770 posts)restrained him at that point -- assuming that was even needed -- for a few seconds, we'd be discussing something else. Unfortunately, Chauvin spent at least 8 minutes and 36 seconds too long on "restraint" and ended up crushing Floyd's neck.

(25,816 posts)the cops looked for my grass. I was pretty agile then, and worked my arms under my legs
and got my hands in front. When the cops came back, they looked at me and shook their heads.
Then I got booked.

(10,053 posts)He is a big man. But it was Chauvin that dragged him out by the neck.

(9,960 posts)... he would not stay in the car. He said he was claustrophobic and kept struggling to get out... by the time he de-escalated, they would not let him up. They should have let him up, and just let him go, if he wouldn't get in the car... he wasn't harming anyone and they knew his identity.
