Walmart really sucks! Went to my Covid vaccine appointment today.Last edited Wed Mar 31, 2021, 11:29 PM - Edit history (1)
Had their confirmation email for the appointment I made a week ago, it even specified it would be for Pfizer vaccine. Took time off work for a 2:00 appointment slot, checked in at the pharmacy and then they told me there was a scheduling error and no vaccine was available! There were several other folks waiting to check in after me, too.
The pharmacist told me he could schedule me for the following Wednesday for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. They had my name, address, phone number, email and even insurance information. Why the hell couldn’t they call and tell me there was no vaccine that day?? They wanted people to come in anyway hoping we’d buy some crap in their shitty ass store! I had not been to Walmart in years, gave them a chance and they failed again. NEVER AGAIN!

4. Stay away from big chain stores.
I get great service from my local independent pharmacy. They seem to have been left out on these shots.

...due to a processing error that ruined millions of doses, we hear today.

18. Pfizer also had millions of doses ruined at a vaccine maker that is
contracting to do the Pfizer vaccine. It was a contamination issue (the reactors apparently had small remnants of the contractor’s own vaccine in them when the Pfizer vaccine processing was started).

25. I read an early story, I believe it said Pfizer and listed 15 million doses
as being affected. I could have mis-read, but I am fairly sure that I did not. But you are right, later articles clearly said J&J, including one that I read late last night that did not give a number for the amount of bad doses.

8. I hate Walmart, but this might not be totally their fault.
In our area a lot of places had to reschedule vaccine appointments due to lack of supply a few times, though they should at least have notified you before you showed up.
Of course if an expected shipment simply didn't arrive and they lacked notice, there may not have been anything they could do. |

9. Honestly, my county seems to do a better job than the private locations
with regard to covid-testing and, I assume, vaccine appointments as well. I got tested at CVS today, it was very disorganized and a long wait.

19. The scale of what is being done has never been done in human history.
What is being done now is the equivalent of fighting and winning WWII in three months. Getting 330 million people vaccinated in a few months is not easy, even with a competent President and team in place.

13. i set up my brothers first vaccine
at Safeway, he thought there would be a huge line....there was one other person, an older Asian-American
lady who told him she was afraid of it...he put her mind at rest. They were in and out...... then he got hammered by side effects for 2 days . To be fair he hadn't had a shot since he was 8 years old....... he will get his second one... |

17. Try Walgreens if you can. It was quick and professional for us.
We had to establish an account with them. It’s just your email and a password. Must do a separate account for each family member. You get a time and confirmation number.

20. The CVS location that I got the first shot at was slower, due to having only
one person giving the shot and prepping vaccine for use. But their system overall was very smooth, a person to check you in, one to enter you in the queue, one to give the shot (could have used another, even two other people for this task), a person to check you out and another to monitor you for 15 minutes. If it wasn’t for the slowness of getting the actual shot, I would give it an A+, instead they didn’t have the right level of emphasis on the most critical step, so I give the company a B.

31. I got Pfizered in Miami a few days ago. Everywhere I went
there were signs up, at Walgreen’s, etc. to get shots. I went straight from the airport to a Walgreen’s. Hope it’s that easy again on June 10th.
What I’m saying is try your local drug stores, no appointment necessary. Good luck!!!👍🍀 |
