Sometimes I felt that he seemed a bit annoyed by or impatient with the questioning. But he also seemed to catch himself and do a re-set so maybe it's just a personality quirk. He was certainly direct and to the point.

I still can't figure out how one jury acquits one officer for killing Philando Castille while another convicts another officer for killing Justine Damond.

He tried to muddy the waters by noting that an EMT took over the chest compressions. Tried to make not helping Mr Floyd before EMTs arrived a qualification issue.

Smith replied with something like any able bodied person can administer chest compressions. It was made clear that the second EMT taking over was just a natural working with a colleague thing.

so they can babysit. I would think every first responder can do compressions.
